40th Anniversary Donation brings sparkle to Grampian Transport Museum exhibits
The OTL Group marked its 40th Anniversary by donating a selection of products to Grampian Transport Museum in Alford. The Museum chose specialist cleaners, degreasers, absorbent pads and wipes which will be used to bring a sparkle to both the exhibition areas and behind the scenes.
Francisco Rocha Coelho of OTL, and Nick Webb, Grampian Transport Museum’s Assistant Curator.
GTM’s Assistant Curator Nick Webb commented, “At this time of year, we are changing around a third of our exhibits to prepare for our 2025 season. This donation is especially welcome as we’re opening part of the museum this December as so many of our visitors want to see round while visiting Santa. As a self-funding charity, it’s great to get such a practical donation."
“We keep as many our vehicles as active as possible and older vehicles tend to leak oil and need lots of maintenance work behind the scenes and in our heritage skills workshop. Maintaining our collection of classic cars, trams and other vehicles takes a lot of effort from our volunteer team and it’s a messy business, so this donation will make a huge difference.”
David Evans, Managing Director of the OTL Group, added, “We’re well known for our degreasers, cleaning and oil spill control products, so making this donation to the Grampian Transport Museum has been an absolute pleasure. We really admire the work the GTM team does in restoring and preserving our transport heritage. So many of their exhibits mark important technological innovations, from steam cars to electric vehicles, so there’s a lot in common with our four decades of product innovation in environmentally friendly specialist products for the offshore, industrial and healthcare sectors.”
The OTL Group’s donation included samples from the soon to be released TurboClean Car Care range, offering a water repellent screenwash, hydrophobic detailing spray, an innovative electrostatic traffic film remover, interior and dashboard cleaner and a biological stain and odour remover.
The OTL Group’s donation was delivered by staff members Francisco Rocha Coelho and Lewis Mackland, who are both car enthusiasts. They jumped at the chance to explore the museum and ended their visit with a ride round the track in the museum’s vintage fire engine.
The Grampian Transport Museum is administered by The Grampian Transport Museum Trust. A private limited company, registered in Scotland No. 130066, with full charitable status.
